One of Yamatai's longest rivers, located in southern Gekisenku. Originating in the Takane Mountains, it flows northward, emptying into the ocean. It serves a natural border between Gekisenku and Izumo. A fair amount of trade is conducted up and down the river.

A castle town in south Gekisenku, nestled in the forests of Mount Akagi. From their mountain stronghold, Daiyama-ki, the Younger Matsuoka clan controls the southern regions of Gekisenku.

A port town near the mouth of the Sotowaku River, held by the Younger Matsuoka. There is also a joint Tachibana-Matsuoka fleet stationed here.

No New Posts Takane Mountains

A large mountain range which stretches across all four of Yamatai's regions, cutting them off from the rest of the continent. Its forests are a valuable source of timber. There are also modest amounts of gold, silver, and copper to be found, but iron is scarce.

A collection of hidden villages sequestered deep in the forests and valleys of the central Takane Mountains, collectively known as the "Kagemura" (shadow villages). Largely autonomous, they are home to various shinobi clans. Legendary spies, saboteurs, and assassins, for centuries they have sold their deadly skills to whoever can afford them. Throughout much of their history they have operated mainly within Yamatai, but in recent years they have begun to due business abroad.

Neutral zones. Caught in the cross-fire between the feuding branches of the Matsuoka clan are a disjointed collection of kokujin (petty nobles), land-owning peasants, and clergy who have chosen to remain neutral. They are desperately try to hold onto their lands and livelihoods, which are mostly found in Gekisenku's central lowlands.

A port town along the northeastern coast, held by the Elder Matsuoka. Not far down the coast is a naval stronghold, which is home to the bulk of the elder branch's ships.

The seat of power for the Elder Matsuoka clan, who rule over northern Gekisenku. Several small communities have sprung up around the base of the promontory upon which the castle stands.

Board Description
Gekisenku no kuni
The largest and central most of Yamatai's regions, control of Gekisenku is contested by two rival branches of the Matsuoka clan. The eastern half of Gekisenku is mountainous, while the more populous western half consists of lowlands and coastal regions. The Amoraean Empire is to the west, Kiiro and Izumo no kuni are to the south, and Ueno no kuni is to the north.
