Larentia Avelina Falto
Larentia, La'tia, or Miss Falto
Larentia, La'tia, or Miss Falto
Age: Twenty-two
Religion and Language: Iesinorism for her religion. Amoraean and Archaean for her native tongue.
Faction Loyalty: None
Alignment: Neutral Good
Profession: It's a bit of a story. She's a farmer's daughter. Her father wanted sons and was given one little girl. Rebelling like crazy as a child, it was assumed the Larentia would never take up the role of a farmer or farmer's hand. Although she doesn't tend the garden or work the fields, Larentia does harvest the crops and sell the leftovers to one of the local traveling merchants. Believe it or not, but Larentia spends more of her time roaming the rolling hills and open meadows that surround her house. She claims that she's too 'free' to be forced into a permanent profession.
Appearance: Although not the most beautiful woman in the land, she does have a bit of grace and inner-beauty to her. Her silky, smooth earth-brown hair is always worn long and usually straight (unless she puts it up before bed which gives it a nice wavy look). Larentia has deep hazel eyes with flecks of greenish gold in them and a nice pair of slender, kissable lips. The young lady stands about five foot four and has a nicely curved body to cover that is neither too fat nor too thin. Her arms are toned as are her legs, but it's nothing too disproportional to her womanly features.
Personality: Rebellious and tomboy-like, Larentia is far from perfect. She is loud, out-spoken, and easily angered. The brunette hates the fact that she cannot be who she wants to be, having been forced to learn the proper mannerisms for young ladies who were meant to become simple housewives and child bearers. A bit rough around the edgy and often lost in her own mind, Larentia does have some redeeming qualities about her. She is kind and very compassionate around those who understand her lust for freedom. She's also a rather wise and witty young lady whose understanding of the human limits is far beyond her years. The hazel-eyed miss is also quite keen and was born with a silver-tongue.
History: As discussed previously, her parents sought to have four little boys but were blessed (or cursed) with one rebellious baby girl. Even at a young age she was causing much grief and mayhem. On a trip into town, Larentia gave her parents the slip and ended up following a butcher around for the day. Both parents worried (they cannot have another child), they frantically overturned every nook and cranny. Tired and defeated, they were walking home when they heard a very familiar laugh. There, on the other side of a pen, was a little girl with locks of brown riding a fat pig.
Growing up from a little thing to a teenager, Larentia didn't change much, manner-wise. She was still as feisty as ever and was always getting herself in a heap load of trouble. Her witty antics and sly nature made her a pain to teach and nearly impossible to tolerate so Larentia was forced to get an education from her parents. Her father taught her how to be strong and brave while her mother instructed her to be gentle and kind.
When she was about thirteen, the hazel eyed lass began to watch the neighbor's children while the parents were out working. Larentia, unbelievably, was extremely well at being a care-giver. She had a mother's touch but a father's strength, ideally the best of both genders.
Larentia continued to grow and eventually developed her own womanly features. A rounded behind and a fine pair of breasts that were not too large but not too small. Proportional is what her mother calls Larentia. Upon her hormones kicking into full gear, Larentia got her first taste of man. Locking lips with a rather handsome young soldier, the brunette was certain he would be the one to wed. However, he never returned from battle and Larentia was forced to find a new lover. But, being a bit too rough, it was hard to find a male that could tolerate her opinionated mind and rough nature.
To this day, Larentia still dreams on the stars that she will find love, but it beginning to realize that no man will take her as she is now. Caving into her parent's wishes, Larentia now works around the house with daily chores and is helping to understand the law of harvest. If she's lucky, by the next harvest she will be able to sell the crops grown and find herself a traveling merchant worthy of her love. Until then, her fiery hazel eyes still seek for adventure as her heart knows that something greater lays just outside her outreached finger tips.
Strengths: Cooking, nurturing, cleaning, and everything else needed in a woman. She also excels at running (she is quite nimble) and, to her mother's dismay, hunting. Although she cannot stomach gutting the innards, Larentia is more than able to wield a bow and arrows and strike down critters that might turn up a pretty penny.
Weaknesses: Manners. She lacks that lady touch, despite having such feminine looks and strengths. Larentia is a bit of a rough girl with an edgy side. It would be wrong to call her bitter and cold, but those words often don't fall far from her. She's a rather opinionated woman and doesn't quite understand the meaning of "no." In a sense, her own greatest weakness is herself and, sadly, being a woman.
Likes: Horseback riding, running through the open fields, laying naked in the meadow, swimming up the creek, and hunting rodents in the forest.
Dislikes: Being told to wear dresses, having to attend family get togethers, and acting like a proper lady in public. She also hate shoes or anything shoe-like. Larentia loves feeling the earth between her toes.
Weapons: A simple hand-made bow and arrows. Larentia also carries a small letter-opener on her hip just in case.
Armor: A lady? In armor? Why, it would only be a dream come true. But, alas, she wears no armor. Larentia is forced to wear lady garments such as a simple dress-like toga, stola, or palla. When forced to wear foot coverings, sandals would be worn.Extra

Her eyes were wild with a sense of fear. Would she be able to overcome this obstacle that stood before her? She had to for, should she fall, no one would ever know what happened to Miss Larentia Falto.
Holding back her breath while trying to still her fast-beating heart, the woman gulped before making her run at the edge of the rock she stood before. Toes kicking off the edge of the mossy rock, the air soon engulfed her on all sides. Flying free as a bird, the brunette's wide-eyed hazel stare remained fixed on the spot she needed to land. With a little jerk to her body, Larentia's fingers reached out at the branch that stood between life and death.
Fingers wrapping around its rough barky texture, a wince flashed on her face. The ground came at her far too fast but at least it came. Body sprawled across the sea of grass, her hazel eyes flicked toward the blue sky above her that was hidden behind the broad leaves of the tree she laid beneath.
"Ha," a smirk crossed her lips, "take that!" Propping herself up on her elbows, the brunette's gaze stared across the gap in the land. A bunny with a wiggling nose seemed to blink back at her. Its ear twitched before it hopped back into the thicket.
Flopping back onto the earth, a fit of giggles soon filled the air. "Oh Larentia, what would your mother say? Hasting away from a wee little bunny. Why must you be such a fool?" Hand draping over her eyes, her eyes flitted shut. After that stunt, it was evident that she needed a nap and so, the woman dozed off into a light sleep that would end before the sun moved to the other side of the tree.
