The courtyard opens into the office, and the office onto the back portico. From the portico Aidan Cambress sees from the dockyard in Tyndus up towards the mountains.

This small room is the nexus of the Episcopate's civilian government. The old governor's palace in Meshuthia houses the city administration, and the archives; it's the formal seat of government. But the true seat of power is here, on the family's largest estate.
