The Dragons, guardians of the elements and the protectors of Fiore, have vanished for the past 2,000 years. The Empire of Fiore has expanded its reign far and wide, completing its goal of world conquest. In its place, the World Government was created, an iron fist of tyranny and oppression against those who have the power to usurp their control, and a beacon of hope for those who live in fear of those with the magic 'spark'. The 'Council of Magi' was created some six hundred years ago in an attempt to unify the mages as a line of defense rather than hunt them as enemies. From it blossomed a league of Light Guilds, providing the land of Fiore with a time of peace and tranquility in correspondence to the World Government's own Rune Knights. However, from Light also sprouts Darkness. Defecting from the Light Guilds were Dark Guilds, black listed guilds who use their power for their own gain and for the rebellion against the World Government. One such group was called Ebon Wing, a light guild who fought for the weak. A guild who believed in an equality of rights between human and mage.
Three years ago, Ebon Wing suddenly disappeared. In its wake were left rumors. Of these rumors, two things were agreed upon. Firstly, Ebon Wing had been attacked and supposedly destroyed. Secondly, some of the members, though alive, were in hiding. For several years, no one heard of them or saw them. Ebon Wing faded from everyone's minds. Six months ago, the guild suddenly reappeared, their 16 members having grown exponentially to 4,000 in the short amount of time. An army of magi had arisen from the guild's ashes, creating chaos upon the five regions of Fiore. |
